Woo Hoo! What a cruise!

WOW!  The sharing and updates I was so hoping to share with you aren’t what I had hoped for but show how important flexibility is on any vacation.  It was definitely a wet cruise.  We didn’t get off of the ship.  Yes, you heard me!  We didn’t get off of the ship!  It was one wet cruise in all ways.  We were not only on the water but were being doused with water too.  Now, although I am disappointed that I missed out on Nachi Cocom, we had a great time despite the rain.

The comedians we saw were okay.  They both had some funny skits but not outstanding.  We went to the PG ~ family shows as I refuse to stand in line for 30+ minutes for the adult shows.  Standing is hard on the knees and they would have to be outstanding for me to stand that long.  It was enjoyable.

We did watch one of the floor shows and it was outstanding.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.  The music was outstanding, the performers were outstanding and the audience was outstanding, too.  There were Grannies dancing, Mom’s and Dad’s dancing, teens dancing as well as the toddler cruisers who were dancing, too.  I should have written it down but I know it was Seventies music being a 70’s girl.  We also attended the Veteran Appreciation program and it was very nicely done.

The food, as always, was great.  Anytime I don’t have to shop, cook and do dishes is always a great day.  We visited out usual, Fahrenheit 555 and JiJi’s Asian Kitchen.  Both had outstanding meals and the service is always exceptional.  We had room service one night, which again is awesome, having someone deliver the food and pick the dirty dishes up when we’re done.  We chose Your Time Dining and had our other 4 meals in the main dining room, in our case, Horizons.  The service was above and beyond and we were blessed with the best wait staff.  We were entertained nightly with magic tricks which made the experience super special.

Now let’s talk about our ports.  We were getting ready to head off the ship in Roatan, Honduras and a downpour changed those plans.  We chose to spend the day instead playing Mexican Train and Rummy and enjoying Hurricanes at the Red Frog Pub.  It was a wonderful, dry day for us.  Our next stop was Belize City, Belize which is a water shuttle port.  There was again talk of rain and it was definitely cloudy.  We went to the Serenity Deck to look out at the surrounding area and decide whether to get off or not.  We no more stepped out on the deck when the rain started.  By the time we walked into the elevator lobby we couldn’t see past the door.  It was raining so hard that they had to move the water shuttle from Aft to Midship for the safety of the passengers.  Needless to say, it was another day of card playing and people watching.  Our third port was Cozumel and we were super excited as we had an excursion to Nachi Cocom, a new experience for us.  We had our breakfast and before we could even head to the elevators the bottom fell out of the sky and we couldn’t see past the ship it was so hard.  Decision made, we’re not chancing it.  Now what to do?  The IMAX to the rescue.  Top Gun: Maverick was about to start and our decision was quickly made, even though we had already seen it once.  Can I just say, it was amazing?  First, we got a discount because we were over 55.  Woo Hoo!  Next, we were surprised at how big the IMAX actually was.  We made an awesome decision.  It was so much fun!  If you have to give up a long awaited excursion, a great IMAX movie was a great consolation prize.  Needless to say, we were flexible and went with the flow, and had an amazing cruise.
